Returning of parcel.
Hi,
Have purchased an item from a shopping agent. When the item was meant to be delivered to my house, I was told by royal mail that I had an invalid shipping adress and the parcel would be returned. I was advised to contact the company which I purchased the item from (the shopping agent) who insist that i should be contact royal mail for compensation because apparently "the shipping line may not support returns" and my package would be destroyed as a reusult of this. I want to find out why royal mail did not allow for re delivery or for me to pick it up from my local depo.I live in london and it is now in the midlands..
I struggle to find peace and closure due to royal mails inability to help me. I have been sent in circles trying to get royal mail and the shopping agent to take accountability but nothing seems to be working. I dont want my package to be destroyed. Please this is a gift and its approaching christmas.
trakcing number: OJ381732409GB
I would be grateful for any advice.
Thank you

Re: Returning of parcel.
It is the responsibility of the company you purchased from to ensure you get the item or refund you. They do the chasing up not you. Did you pay by credit card or Paypal etc? Start the refund process through them if you did.

Re: Returning of parcel.
Hi, I paid through my debit card. The company refuse to refund me because "its not their fault" should i be contacting my bank for fraudulent charges? What would i say to my bank if i contacted them.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Hi,
The tracking number should be working..It says it has arrived at a parcel centre in the midlands. I’ve had no updates for like 2 days.
Thanks

Re: Returning of parcel.
Looking at the tracking, I'm wondering if there's an issue with the return address. It got sent to PSC South East who sent it to NW Midlands MC, who in turn sent it to PSC Atherstone. Later that day PSC Atherstone sent it back to NW Midlands MC

Re: Returning of parcel.
Hi,
Honestly not even surprised that there is an issue. The package is coming from china. The company who sent the package out told me there is no return path for the item so if it gets sent back it would be destroyed. Royal Mail also refuse to just send it back..All of this just because somehow my house number got deleted from the saved info so my full address was there but just my house number wasn’t there.
I am now unsure of what I’m meant to do. I was told to contact RM for compensation by the company but knowing RM this is highly unlikely I would receive much..I still struggle to understand the lack of communication from Royal Mail. I guess I’ve lost my money ..

Re: Returning of parcel.
Quite often firms will import multiple orders into the UK in a big bulk shipment. Once that shipment arrives at a warehouse somewhere, they break the shipment down into the individual orders which then each enter RM's system. The item likely has that warehouse as the return address

Yeah,
The item was shipped from a warehouse. The company which I purchased from told me that because of this there isn’t a return path for the shipment I had chosen..and so if it gets to them instead of returning it it would be destroyed. Should I be contacting my bank next ????

It looks like it only made it to Atherstone Hub and from what's posted the Address is either obscured, missing or damaged.
I would definitely would contact your debit card provider and ask for a chargeback if the company don't accept responsibility.
Also, I note the courier company is part of Alibaba, they do not have a good reputation for customer service.

Re: Returning of parcel.
So it didn't have you full address on it. It's up to the sender to put the full address on it or it will [most likely] be sent back.

Re: Returning of parcel.
Hi,
Yeah it didn’t but I find it a bit how im being sent around in circles. The shopping agent is telling me to resolve with Royal Mail myself and Royal Mail is telling me to contact the shipping agent. I have tried to resolve the issue by contacting both ends but it resulted in my parcel being stuck in the midlands :/

Re: Returning of parcel.
I am not certain if it pertains to china, but distance selling regulations in the UK put the onus on the sender not the receiver. If its a UK agent working on their behalf they should know that.ea_221 wrote: ↑08 Dec 2024, 09:59Hi,

Re: Returning of parcel.
Hi guys,
Yeah I my house number didn’t get added to my saved address for some reason. Since they printed in the label the information which “I provided” then they said that they are not responsible. Royal Mail refuse to intercept the parcel but it’s literally bouncing between the 2 package centres.. I’m not too sure why they can’t just change the label or print a new one and bring it to me..if they want to send it back so badly why don’t they but they need to tell me where they are sending it to..but they would rather let it bounce between 2 post centres.
Should I be contacting my bank ??
