Seasonal variation when leaving business.

Post by patman_post »

So I'm leaving the company after 15 wonderful ;liar years...

Where do I stand with the seasonal variation? By my maths the company still owe me about 10 hours from the longer weeks over Christmas, so Is it worth me ringing HR and waiting in a queue for an hour of my life? Or should I just cut my losses and move on?

Cheers in advance guys.

But we’ve been finishing 10 mins early from Jan to April? You might owe them!

Reasonably sure that the recent shorter weeks should have mostly balanced you out, but in any case, you are supposed to be credited any overage of work / pay and debited any under work / pay. It was released in a notice at some point.

I'd double check, but I do think for the most part, having worked though the end of year "extra" short shifts, you should be neutral right now and owe nothing, and are owed nothing.

If you've worked normal hours for the last 2 months and not been told it was short hours, I'd start making a fuss.

swift edit: to clarify, it seems RM realised that they were going to get into s**t by starting mid-year and getting more hours for normal pay without getting less hours for normal pay, so they had use on "summer" hours for a good few weeks to balance the books I think it ended the week before last?

I left at Christmas. Your Com has to put in the request to HRSC leavers. It does not get sorted out automatically

Seasonal variation commenced with a High season on Monday 4th September and ended Saturday 16th December 2023 (15 weeks).
Monday 22nd January to Saturday 23rd March (9 weeks) was an impromptu Low season.

We're still owed 6 weeks worth (300 minutes PT / 720 minutes FT).
The machine stops.

Like the above poster said, it all comes down to whether your 'COM' can be arsed to make the effort of sorting it out for you. If they can't, you need to chase it up unfortunately.

I can't understand why it can't be automatically sorted, it's the same with outstanding leave so it's down to the tosser masquerading as a manager to ensure your pay is correct when leaving the company.

I'm sure it'd be automatically sorted if I owed them...

RM instantly deducted the ‘my bundle’ money I owed them but it took two months to get peak incentive payment and about three weeks to get SVH money owed. I had to really push the situation and also get the Area Rep to follow it up after I left. Glad I’ve left
