Need help.. Thinking of leaving!

Post by cheesetoastie »

I'm considering leaving Rm after 20 years service... Im 40 years old and can't seem me doing this job for the next 25-30 years... I have 2 weeks winter holiday to take in April that rolls straight into 3 weeks summer... If say I handed my notice in tomorrow could I leave straight away or would I need to work the 7 days notice period and what would I be entitled too? Thanks in advance.

The new holiday year starts in April so more info is required as to what holiday you have taken in this period.
1wks notice is all that’s required.
You can take holiday owed as notice, depending on a convo with your Manager.

I know, it's annoying that I cant hold off till April and have 5 weeks off to decide on what to do and organise other employment/training etc
.. But this job is seriously affecting my physical and mental wellbeing.

I was on annual leave the week just gone and handed my notice in last Sat.

1 week is all that's needed.

Good luck.

That in a nutshell comprises everything wrong with this company, add to that the abysmal management, with their lack of any empathy or leadership, the bullying and harassment that is still rife and the worsened and worsening terms and conditions you have a deadly mix , it’s not going to end well.

The jobs are impossible. Who's problem is that ? Are you paid to worry about that ? I leave a few streets one day then change to another few streets the next. The public get used to alternate days . Its what the business wants so it then becomes official policy. The problem is postmen who still have the mindset that they can complete as long as they run round and take short cuts. If they do the managers cut more jobs. Until the penny drops , you're like a hamster on a wheel , trapped.
