Has anyone got a link to information regarding SA's. I want to know how long your SA contract is valid for once you've signed it?

I think you're supposed to sign for SA every 12 months, so it should be valid for that long before you sign for it again. They gave me 6/7 weeks notice when it was to be cancelled. Probably don't have to any more though as the union is irrelevant.

That was 5 years ago and a lot has changed.

It’s 12 months but most managers are too lazy to get you to sign again after 12 months is up. It’s 28 days notice both ways to get out of the contract. If you can’t do the SA for any other reason except holiday it’s up to you to get it covered.

That covering your sa when you can’t has never happened in over 30 years in the job . The manager will often moan and threaten to take it away but nothing ever happens.

Worked Delivery for 16 years for my sins, and was not even offered it once.

IT’s delivery, usually a handful of sa duties in every office, it’s basically a commitment to work your rest days.

I’m talking specialist SA’s, callers office (gone now), dock, lock up etc not day off SA’s
