Annual Leave – Taking breaks from work
Taking a break from work is vitally important for your health & wellbeing. Employees can carry over (c/o) up to 5 days leave (or contractual equivalent) each year. Above this requires written permission from your manager.
Those with excessive c/o leave need to reduce this in line with our policy. From 01/04/24, employees need to reduce their c/o leave by 31/08/24 as agreed with their manager.
If you carried over less than three weeks into 2023/24 you need to book and use it by 31/08/24
Exceptionally, if you carried over more than three weeks into 2023/24 you need to book and use it by 31/08/25
Unless there is an exceptional reason, remaining c/o leave will be lost – please read this fact sheet. This approach then applies annually.
