Revision and Repick

Our office will be having a revision soon to cater for the later start times, currently we have 8 rurals on a 4 day week + a town round on a 5 day week, current staff of 15, 9 deliverys, 4 day off covers and 2 reserves, start times vary from 7.00 am on longs and 7.45am on shorts.
Our new start times will be 8.00 am causing us to lose the 4 day weeks and we will be moving onto a 9 day fortnight, 9 walks 3 day off cover and 2 reserves so losing a member of staff (part of a cost cutting exercise) which we think will move to another office hopefully thus vacating a duty, the walks will remain exactly as they are with no changes, so the usual crap of the same work in less time. Another office we are told will be picking up box collections on our rounds due to us finishing earlier.

The question I have will this trigger a repick ?, the 3 day off covers will have to learn another round each and the 4th day off cover which is spare now will go onto the duty that has been vacated by the member of staff moving to another office, so 5 staff in all are affected by the changes. All of us want a repick and some 20+ year service members still don't have their own round and are stuck on day off cover, whenever in the past someone left new starters have gone straight on the vacant duty and none of us have had a chance to change rounds for years, we don't have an office Rep and management won't give us a straight answer, we will of course contact our area Rep soon but everything is in the early stages with nothing concrete, we just want to know our rights to a repick at this early stage.

It depends on how you voted, if you voted yes, you can’t complain, you’ll have to take what you get. If you voted no, you’ll have to get what everyone else who gave up and surrendered agreed to. Either way, you’re screwed !

I thought that if changes affected over a certain percentage of duties then it triggered a repick if you want one, obviously all your duties are affected and you say everyone wants one so can't see why you can't.

The only thing I can think of is you say people might need training so management might say they can't afford to pay for training people on duties but depending on who picks what it could be minimal/not an issue anyway.

(I'll add I'm not a rep so that's just my opinion going by info I've read on here)

to the extent that our revision was due to go live last week because one of the ongoing hold ups is deciding precisely which duties are to be removed. The powers that be are trying to work out who's going to kick up the least fuss about being displaced (or who they are least scared of, or who our rep is least likely to fight for)
There won't be a re-pick so in all likelihood at least of our 30year+ posties will be without a duty

I think hell would have to freeze over before our office has a re-pick!! I f***ing hate my round and funnily enough every one who has done my duty seems to think the same. I desperately want to move on and do another duty but the screws won't have a re-pick and are being complete ar$eholes by not advertising all the vacant rounds. We have had staff that have only been here barely two years and have just jumped onto fixed duties and said it was now their round.

It's no wonder why so many posties go on sick and I can't say I blame them given the way that managers are managing the office and the duties. The job is well and truly f***ed.

I think one more revision in my office, will see it come to a standstill.
Even the bosses don't seem as keen on them, as they once were.
