Moving to another depot

Hi all can anybody answer this question for me please. I am looking to transfer to another Royal Mail depot in the future and does anybody know if I transfer under the old contract/terms I'm on now, or would I have to start again on a new contract.

I have definitely read that this is something the union is trying to sort out.
As it stands RM want unit transfers to change to the new contracts.

I have been asking this question since the very start of the strikes due to an imminent house move and have never had a definite answer, other than 'you shouldn't be downgraded'

Have you tried phoning HR ? Surely someone must know, try phoning them on Monday.

There isn't a number for HR that I know of where you can speak to an actual human.

Also there still isn't a single postman job advertised on our internal jobs site successfactors

Ah I see, I've just looked on the people app and there's an option to ask questions relating to HR queries so maybe try that.

I see what you mean, no postie jobs at all on the internal site, I see there's workplace coach positions though in a few offices, surprised they're bothering paying out these days especially now it looks like the rate is £44 per week.

Internal Transfers

We have been made aware that in some areas of the country RMG are using the following policy:

BAU Internal Transfers are where employees apply for vacancies through Success Factors, and the most senior internal applicant is successful. New vacancies are advertised on new terms, so we are unable to progress the BAU internal transfers. Therefore, there is an exception process which means they would remain on existing terms (e.g. moving due to family circumstances) and those that fall under this category should be progressed through HRBP (policy shown from attached Transfers Guide).

There is no longer a transfer list therefore members who want to either increase their hours and/or move to another office have to apply for those internal jobs via ‘Success factors’ meaning they are applying for jobs which are being advertised on new terms and conditions. This is a contradiction that has to be addressed as does the exemption process and this matter will be raised with RMG immediately. Reports have also been received of transfers being blocked in certain locations and this is completely inappropriate given the number of vacancies which currently exist. We ask Branches and Representatives to raise these cases through the IR Framework.

What that probably means is that we'll hear something on this over the next week or two - as talks are still ongoing on a variety of issues.

I've always found it near on impossible to believe that a national company with over 100k employees all basically in the same job doesn't have an internal transfer process where you can express an interest or even view available positions in other offices.

Despite hunting I can't seem to find that transfers guide link on here anywhere.
What does HRBP mean? HR business partner? HR best practice?
