Any other offices gone back to having a DOM?

Two in our area now have a DOM.
Instead of linos they now have £40k+ COMs below them .
You couldn’t make it up.

While the additional managerial layer and cost is likely bad from a monetary perspective, the multiple-COM situation some of us deal with is ridiculous (Basically, constant infighting of "not my section" and "not my job" and "not my staff" and bullshit stopping anything getting anywhere when it's remotely complicated), so I'm not TOOO surprised to hear DOMs might make a come back of a kind.

Swift edit: single COM offices likely won't 'get' it, since that's basically a DOM and no COMs... Suffice to say, with no singular unit leader, anarchy is the norm.

Say work are 1 was in the s**t and work area 2 had spare staff, would the COM of work area 2 tell the COM of work area 1 to do one if the COM of work area 1 asked the COM of work area to to load them some staff?

I honestly can't remember the last time we had spare staff, it must have been about four Christmases ago when nobody was off sick for perhaps one day in the zero leave period

Sometimes if they have spares they might loan the spares about, but they're more likely to offer shift swaps within their own section to cover upcoming problem days first. If one section had 10 go off and the others were perfectly staffed, they wouldn't even think of spreading the pain out. Look out for Number One, f**k the rest.
