A funeral has been held for a "popular" Crewe dad and Royal Mail veteran who died unexpectedly, with company vans convoying his cortege.
Jason Riggs, 52, worked at Royal Mail for 37 years and sadly died unexpectedly on Thursday 22 June.
The father-of-two to Jessie, 29 and Matthew 20, was born in Somerset and moved to Crewe as a child in 1974.
Mr Riggs starting working for Royal Mail from the age of 16, his first proper job, where he remained his entire career.
A funeral service was held at St Michael's Church, Ford Lane, on Thursday 20 July.
Royal Mail vans and trucks escorted Mr Riggs and his family to the church In traditional convoy style.
The family were greeted to even more vans at the church, with former colleagues paying their respects.
Daughter, Jessie, told Nub News: "What a roller coaster of emotions it was, for everyone. My goodness, Mr Riggs you were one popular gent.

"I'm happy we have been able to say our final goodbyes, the wait was far to long and crushing for all of us. My heart goes out to anyone waiting to lay a loved one to rest.
"It was brilliant to see how many loved ones travelled far and wide to say goodnight to Jason. Truly heartwarming.
"We started our journey being escorted to church in traditional convoy style by four Royal Mail vans.
"There were three, with a cheeky fourth joining as we set off.
"As children, Nicki Day and Jason used to play a travelling game with me and Matthew Riggs where you got points for spotting different Royal Mail vans on long journeys.
"Anything to keep two children busy on a car journey.

"Well, on the day of the funeral we counted how many Royal Mail vans made it through each set of traffic lights behind our cars, and of course Jason.
"A massive respect to the public who allowed this unusual occurrence to remain intact - no one wants to be the car that cuts up a funeral, especially one with a Royal Mail convoy.
"Thank you to anyone that allowed us through."
Previously working as a postman, Mr Riggs became a LVG Class 1 driver for Royal Mail.
The Crewe dad worked at the town's Royal Mail depot before it moved to Warrington, becoming the hub for the company.
Mr Riggs received one final Royal Mail send off with arctic truck unit escorting him and his family to the crematorium.
Jessie said: "It was just amazing to see so many post office vans to convoy the funeral.
"It was just surreal to see this family of post office staff come out to someone someone they had known for such a long time.
"There were more people than what we could have hoped for. I've never seen so many in uniform and I've been functions with this lot.
"My dad wasn't a postman and hadn't been for some time. He was a LVG Class 1 Driver (because badass miracle isn't an official job title) and he did like to remind you of that.
"I think the entire family reacted with emotion when we saw two truck units just sneaking up Ford Lane.
"Jason's final journey from the church to the crematorium was convoyed by a number of post office vans and leading that pack was a truck.

"From here, the family was escorted again by two trucks to Coppenhall Working Men's Club who put on a lovely spread, and were kind to all.
"It was here where I spent a good long while with family, friends and Jason's work colleagues.
"We heard stories, and were shown videos and photos of Jason - like fishing on his oculus from his truck on his lunch break.
"Thank you to anyone who came, and celebrated Jason with us. It meant the world to me."
Jason's mum, Julie Harding, 80, paid tribute to her "wonderful" son, also thanking family, friends and Royal Mail colleagues for the cortege, service and wake.
The mother to the late Jason and Zoe, added: "I want to say a massive thank you to all friends, family, and Royal Mail Colleagues for giving my boy such a fabulous last journey, it was overwhelming for me.
"I was so proud to have been his mum, the sun shone for him, the perfect day for a wonderful son."
