Overpayment help

Post by Stryjo »

Hi guys,
On April 29th I left Royal Mail, the last week of my notice was 1 week holiday.
In the People App I saw that I have carry over 18h, in addition, since I was overworked in April this year, I should be entitled to another 2 days.
Therefore, on May 5, I received the last payment for the holiday of 320 pounds.
Then I received a letter telling me to return the money.
How is it possible when I had carry over 18h and these 2 days for April?
How can I defend myself or are they right?
Unfortunately, I did not manage to take a photo in this app.

Yes, I was on strike, but as I said at the very end, in April I was told in the app that I had carry over 18 hours, and I also worked 3 weeks and 1 week of holiday in April, means the I worked all month in April.

When you left there should have been a leavers letter that came with other documents such as your p45. I'm pretty sure there is a telephone number on there to call about underpayments / overpayments

Don't understand what you mean by being overworked in April and getting two days for it? Anyway since you only worked 3 weeks of this year your last weeks holiday has not fully been 'earned'. You would only have accrued whatever hrs two days is worth and less if you're not on full six weeks leave entitlement.
