Charles and Camilla have been spotted delivering mail through letterboxes in the city.

In celebration of the King’s crowning this weekend, Royal Mail employees Charles Paintsil and Camilla York posted letters to homes in Coronation Street, Brighton.

The regally-named posties wore the traditional Royal Mail uniform while Camilla even donned a Union Flag bucket hat for the occasion.

It prompted one Royal Mail boss to celebrate the link between the British public and its royal family through the country’s street names.

Director of external Affairs and policy David Gold said: “As the country gears up for a weekend of celebrations, postmen and women will be delivering parcels and letters to thousands of regally named residences.

“Perhaps it is an indication of the close bond between the public and the Royal Family that so many of the places we live have that royal connection.”

Across the UK, there are some 527 street names featuring the word Coronation, 1,148 the word King, and 805 use Queen.

It comes as Royal Mail unveil four special coronation post boxes in London, Edinburgh, Cardiff, and County Down.
