Hello all :)
Just wanted to see if anyone might have some advice or reassurance to give re my situation!
I made an order through a retailer, the package was sent via tracked 48 and received at my local DO on 11/04, after where the status changed to ready for delivery. I was given a time slot via text, it didn't arrive. I then got another text saying it would come between 7.30am and 7.30pm, it again didn't arrive. This was 2 days ago now and the tracking status is still on ready for delivery. I called RM yesterday and they opened an investigation but didn't give any insight at all. I received a text this morning saying it would arrive between 7.30am and 7.30pm today, but again - Its now 7.15pm and it hasn't arrived. The tracking status still says that its expected to deliver on the 11/04 (two days ago). I live in a massive residential building and RM have delivered to the building multiple times over the last few days but not my package.
I'm concerned as it was an expensive order and customer service doesn't seem to have anything to say other than wait 10 working days for us to get back to you.
If anyone has any advice, please feel free to share!
Thank you :)

It is the retailer's responsibility to get it to you. You should be pursuing them for a refund / replacement, not RM.

Re: Stuck on 'ready for delivery'
I'm only looking to get my package relocated which is somewhere within RM's system. Not sure what the retailer would be able to do yet since (and I'm sure you're aware) you have to wait 7 working days before the retailer can contact RM for compensation for lost items... I'm not 'persuing' RM, just attempting to get my lost package found.

The tracking reference number would be awfully helpful Anya, just to cast one eye over the possibilities.

Re: Stuck on 'ready for delivery'
It has occurred to me a couple of times from a retailer with a tracked 24 small parcel. Stayed at my DO “ready for delivery” for like 4 days before they then actually decided to deliver it. It came in the afternoon both times and not with the normal post.
Be aware of the fact that if it does not get delivered on the day it is supposed to be out for delivery, the tracking remains stuck on that. You won’t see more scans of a new “out for delivery” attempt.
In your case I would go down the office with the tracking and kindly ask that they have a look at the back for this parcel of yours that they have not been delivering for a while now. I have had to do this when it gets to a week without any normal post in our block of flats (postie literally told me his manager told him to leave letters and just take out tracked stuff, SDs and parcels and the postie himself encouraged me to complain, which I did, but of course I never disclosed any info that could identify the postie for his sake).
Sometimes you get the grumpy guy who will say they cannot check because they cannot be bothered, but if you get an actual postie behind the counter they will be more inclined to go and check if they have any undelivered post for you without problems. That was my experience anyway.
Both times they actually went and checked for me, I did have post they had not been delivering.
The retailer cannot do anything to make RM deliver any faster. Contact them only for a refund if the item is deemed lost or damaged by RM. Otherwise the best course here is to go down the delivery office and collect it yourself. Officially it should not be doable but I find that if it has been days sitting undelivered at the DO they will give it to you (unless you get the grumpy type of guy behind the counter - in that case ask for a manager).
When I contacted the retailer in my case they were not able to do anything helpful. The tracking clearly says they got the item at the DO ready for delivery, so why suggest that they go and bother the retailer (who has done nothing wrong here) when it is much quicker to go down the office and make RM give the package finally to you? That would be a good suggestion if the whereabouts of the package were unknown and of course the retailer is responsible for any refunds if the items is lost or gets delivered damaged, but in OP’s case they knew it was there at the delivery office but not being put out for delivery… I assume for lack of staff.
I know by now you will have received it, but I am saying all this in case it happens in the future again.
