I was about to give you an honest answer. But I'm I guess I need to give you a parliamentary answer. Just so you know, right? If I'm saying something in the committee in the House of Commons, no one can see me. But I'm saying in my office to the parliamentary answer is that he gave us some answers, which based on the evidence we subsequently received from postal workers, whether inadvertently or not, didn't seem to be wholly accurate.

So we recalled him now that we've never done a recall hearing. I mean, I've chaired the committee for three and a half years, we've never recalled anybody, you know, we've had testy exchanges, @ the p&l chief executive, "firing 800 people, are you in this mess? Because you don't know what you're doing? Or are you just a shameless criminal?"

You know, the Amazon guy, you know, others? Sometimes people miss speak.

It's a bit of a stressful environment. And afterwards, then, we might say, did you really mean that? And they say, oh, no, I'm sorry, it was, it was inaccurate. Or they'll write to you and say, This is what I really meant. And you can attach a footnote to the public record, and it will kind of get sorted out, this was the worst case study I've ever seen. I mean, it wasn't just like a slip.

There was just issue after issue after issue after issue of the issue, where we had tons we were drowning and emails from postal workers, and very grateful to them for sending it to us. That just showed that there was not something not quite right here. And basically, there were two potential outcomes when he misled the committee, which is parliamentary language for not telling the truth.

Or he doesn't know what's going on in his business, which in itself was a pretty bad thing. And so we record him on that basis to ask further questions.

@Thompson "Are all of these rogue posties mr. Thompson? Or do you not know what's going on in your business that by its very nature, is a systemic failure? Because it is a system wide failure? I'm asking you whether you agree with that, yes or no."

Sounds very unusual to me Mr. McCauley just on the basis of English language, there's a theme which is we have rogue posties. We have rogue managers, we have isolated incidences. We've got a global pandemic, we've got industrial action. It's everyone else's fault.

Important to recognise that every single postal worker who e-mailed information to Darren should be proud and applauded for doing so, as its really made a big difference in this select committee.
