Sadly no.

GLS has existed under different names since 1989. It started in Germany. Rico Back sold it to the Royal Mail group in 1999.

Not according to Thompson . When he was questioned by MPs at Westminster, he said it’s always been a separate company.

I also wonder how much RM business has been passed to GLS which may have stayed with RM if they hadn't bought GLS? Plus I assume RM have invested money in GLS so they could grow as a company following the purchase?

Thompson is all over the place. According to Thompson, also at the committee, it was GLS profits which paid the dividends to Royal Mail shareholders. Why would a separate legal entity, according to Thompson, be paying the dividends of an entirely separate legal entity? 🙄🙄

He talks that much garbage that he digs himself a hole each time he speaks (see also his recent comment about
losing 1m a day and how much was lost because of IA - it just doesn't add up if you excuse the pun).

A rumour going round that he's off work at the moment. Perhaps it's because the Parliamentary meeting is coming up?

Every gls package has wrong or very low info on each package. Usually wrong. But the podium will always have it as number 1 or 2 and thats rarely correct. Lately they don’t even have a house number. It’s infuriating that they can’t input enough details. Gls makes its fortune by an Amazon driver model. That’s why Simon is so obsessed he wants to copy the exact gls model down to a tea. Ie u r self employed, no sick pay or holiday pay. Not busy u aren’t needed, we already have a company supplying owner drivers so the changes are happening regardless of the union.

I reman convinced that they want shot of letters but they want them taken away rather than them giving them up- fines must be less that way round.
