Bench merging/ or all fittings put into a horse shoe configuration

Post by pieoftheday »

Who is working in this way and what is it like? I'm not Interested in 'my mate says' or 'I've heard' but someone who's actually doing it. Oh and 3 to a van on a permanent basis, not just doing it for a few days to catch up :Very Happy

I thought they tried this a couple of years back on a trial basis and was shelved as savings were minimal

Looks like they're trying again, see thread above, still no one on here that's experiencing it though

If there is anybody on here from Ringwood ,they are probably too concerned about being conducted and suspended as we have only just got one of the staff back to work after a social media charge.

At the moment they are not actually using the resource to workload method as I suspect it is too difficult to manage so in the case of the first postcode to go in, its business as usual ,do your own walk( conviently called a section now) then pick up some lapsing(if lapsing )from the frame on the end of the line. But as in all units that have had an unrealistic revision forced on it they are having issues with overlong walks.

The woman on the frame next to me has been bench merging. One of the easier rounds (200 call rural), but whereas before she’d be bundling up at 8.30, it’s now 9.15. Management have only been having her do it on a Monday and Tuesday. She’s not happy at all.
The day is gonna come when we’re all gonna have to testify.

Surprised they haven’t war gamed us each - what’s left of us - having our own horseshoe frame 😁 , just a wing on each side plus a couple of straight bits and ta da 🎉 🧲

Bet at least one of the geniuses at the top have thought of this.
’You can't just ask customers what they want and then try to give that to them. By the time you get it built, they'll want something new.’
