What does the future hold for pensions in 2023?

Post by Jefferson Starfish »

Just wondering what peoples thoughts are about what will happen to pensions in Royal Mail and in general over the next 12 months?

Will CDC finally happen?
Will there be another run on the bond markets, or stock markets?
Will the state pension age increase?
Will the tax regime change?

Any other questions/suggestions welcome.

CDC. After nearly 5 years of planning, regulation and legislation, the RM Collective Pension Plan seems to be nearly here.
The trustees of the new scheme have submitted an application and now it's up to the Pensions Regulator to authorise it.
Sometime in 2023 looks likely, but exactly when is any ones guess.

Who knows about the markets?
They're a law unto themselves to some degree, but any slides will generally reverse over the course of time.

There is talk of the state pension age increasing to 67 earlier than previously planned, and if that happens, 68 will probably be brought forward too. There's always the possibility of further increases beyond that.

I think we already pay too much tax!
