The Whole reason we are now on strike is one man's folly
Well we all know on here this dispute could and would have been solved months ago this is a war upon us working people by the elite in the nation and the whole world they are not content with 99.5% of the wealth but 100%. And by that we mean the subjugation of the working class they RM have £1.7 BILLION to break us yet choses to continue this action when it could be resolved by a fraction of that.
This is a war on everybody who is not in the elite of the whole world but some are climbing that greasy pole off our own backs and the CEO is one of them not the only one but he controls the direction of the company.
If this parasite cannot deliver as he has failed to do so he should jump ship or run aground or be hoisted and strapped and given a flogging, This whole fiasco was his dream of domination of the working class what an utter failure that was!
Thing is their is such thing a SOLIDARITY and COMRADESHIP and basic human dignity and we will not bow down to your ill gotten gains or to your whiteboards of wisdom or your lack of solving this dispute!
The ball is in your court Simon!

But this is the latest one I wholly agree with my union that we are being sold down the river by management of this business led by donkeys who cannot even defend their own actions! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rrus15UMRvI

Re: The Whole reason we are now on strike is one man's folly
Well said k979aaa,
, but we know and it has been said before, replace ST, and someone else will step into his shoes continuing the same agenda, A lot of the people I work with are good hard working , honest , put their best foot forward for the company daily. Most of us are not the greatest looking at the political confrontations that are being carried out by the parties on both sides, we just want a fair days pay for a fair days work. Unfortunately we are the bottom of the pile and are being trodden on, to the endgamesof both parties that are striving to get the better of one another. YES we do want to keep some of the changes wanted, and get a fair pay increase, but at the end of the day the only hardships that are happening are to us, the good hard working posties who just want to go to work , do our days work, and then go home. THE TWO SIDES SHUOLD HAVE A GOOD LOOK AT EACH OTHER THIS CHRISTMAS .

Created a job now that to be honest I don’t want anymore and will only put less and less effort into, watching this shambles of a negotiation unfold and knowing it’s all going to have to be done again in 18 months regardless of what or what isn’t agreed in the short term. A demoralising period and now a workforce with morale on the floor that I doubt will ever return, now we officially know how little we are valued.

Yep it’s dead in the water, I’ll continue on observe strike days but I’ll be more productive than wasting my time on the picket, only positive is anyone I’ve ever known that has left has ended up better off

Re: The Whole reason we are now on strike is one man's folly
When this is all over and done with i will more than likely either be paid off or left the business and moved onto pastures new. There is no future in RM for somebody of my age in their vision of the company, as the pressure will ramp up for more and more "modernisation" i will become pushed aside for much younger and possibly less productive versions of myself. I strike for the people who will join after i am gone so that they have some semblance of a job. The only way now to control these megalomaniac's is for the public and government to pressure them into submission and with the present government i dont hold out much hope of that. They have been in power to long and are getting greedy and lazy as they realise the next election is doomed unless they have a miracle and labour implode. So now the mad grab for all the cash they can get has began and we are just collateral damage with no value to them....... Unless, we can galvanise the public, nothing gets a politician interested like when the ordinary folk start to give them a hard time, we aren't talking revolution just enough pressure to get the media sit up and take notice. Then they will run for cover and start throwing the sacrificial lambs out to slaughter, and it will all have started with us posties standing up for ourselves. I know it sounds like wishful thinking but you never know.

Yeah, power to the people, vive la revolution, wave the Red Flag and all the rest of that old cliche'd nonsense, but the public aren't going to be "galvanised" any time soon by this strike.
No post today, parcels coming by DPD, WGAF really? It's been eclipsed by the important news-worthy strikes by Border Force, nurses and paramedics, and if that Capitalist devil-incarnate ST was to resign tomorrow, there'd be another along by next week.
Just too many Wolfie Smiths around still.

Didn't Wolfie manage to get hold of a tank and drive to Parliament in one episode?
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Re: The Whole reason we are now on strike is one man's folly
It’s actually hit home today how sad all of this , we should be out delivering for Xmas , I can’t believe Thompson has allowed this to happen. It’s not like we are asking for much , it’s not even really about the money so not as if we can be accused of being greedy. I don’t know where this all ends now the union can say it’s not all about Xmas etc. but let’s be honest if it’s not resolved at Xmas , it’s not going to end well for anyone and that includes the company.

Re: The Whole reason we are now on strike is one man's folly
This dispute is 100% down to management, or should I say mismanagement. The union have been very reasonable and held out an olive branch to cancel today and tomorrow's strikes . This was to allow a period of calm for intense negotiations but management didn't want to know .1617mel wrote: ↑23 Dec 2022, 05:09Well said k979aaa,, but we know and it has been said before, replace ST, and someone else will step into his shoes continuing the same agenda, A lot of the people I work with are good hard working , honest , put their best foot forward for the company daily. Just pay us all off with the £1.7billion and whatever billions the Vesa dude has.... that will get rid of the union and you can bring in slave labour owner drivers. Maybe some current employees would stay and be owner drivers for you - maybe they could buy one of the better vans off you for a discounted price. Now you have no more pensions to contribute to, no more sick pay, no more vans to pay for, no more annual leave, you can reduce the size of your units as you won't need as much car parking space....
Just pay everyone off a decent amount.
