From my understanding you will have to provide a fit note from your doctor from day 1 of going sick. If you don’t you will not get paid. I may be wrong but this is only what I have

I have been told all sickness around strikes days will count as unauthorised so no you don’t get paid, unless it’s special circumstances (your in hospital or something serious) head aches/ colds etc no pay.
When asked to have this in writing the answer was no, nothing in writing, as they no it’s illegal.

I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

You can't not get paid sick pay AND have it as a sickness on your records. If you're not getting paid you're on unpaid absence.

So you wake up and feel shxt, got flu, how on earth are you going to either get a GP appointment before ringing in to work or go into the GP if you miraculously get an appointment as you feel so unwell?

Just another reason why the NHS is overstretched because heartless bastard company sick pay policies require people to get written confirmation from their GP for a f***ing cold.

I've had to put a grievance in with ACAS (and you now cannot get an individual grievance reference from HR) for them not paying during covid absence which I first tested positive on Monday night. I was off Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and came back to work today and will work tomorrow. I'm now Covid negative as of today (so it must have started over the weekend). I've only been paid for Monday this week. My manager says today and tomorrow will be refunded next week.

...and this was with following all of the NHS and RM advice as it currently stands.
