KEY PAYROLL DEADLINES – December 2022 BANK HOLIDAYS
Submission Deadlines
Due to the Christmas Bank Holidays’ on Monday 26th and Tuesday 27th December, the weekly payroll run that would normally be processed on Tuesday 20th and Tuesday 27th December will be brought forward and now run on Monday 19th December and Friday 23rd December.
As we need to process payroll earlier than usual, please be aware of the following changes during w/c 12th December:
Weekly Payroll will run as usual on Tuesday 13th December for payment on Friday 16th. In addition to the usual payroll run:
We will also lock payroll for weekly paid employees only on Friday 16th December between the hours of 02.00 and 07.30am.
AS WE NEED TO PROCESS PAYROLL EARLIER THAN USUAL, PLEASE BE AWARE OF THE FOLLOWING CHANGES DURING W/C 19TH DECEMBER:
For the final weekly payroll run, (pay date 23rd December) we will lock and run payroll from 14.00 on Monday 19th December. It is recommended that you ensure that all necessary changes have been made/saved by 13.30 Payroll will remain locked until the payroll has been completed which is anticipated to be approx 18.00.
We will lock payroll for weekly paid employees only on Thursday 22nd and Friday 23rd December between the hours of 02.00 and 07.30am.
For the final weekly payroll run, (pay date 30th December) we will lock and run payroll from 10.00 am on Friday 23rd December. It is recommended that you ensure that all necessary changes have been made/saved by 09.30. Payroll will remain locked until the payroll has been completed which is anticipated to be approx 15.00.
A weekly breakdown is provided below:
December Salaries – Pay date Friday 23rd December
December salaries will run on Thursday 15th December.
Units should input all monthly absence, Variable pay and substitution - up to and including Sunday 11th December by close of play Wednesday 14th December.
Any Assigned Shift and Allowances information needs to be keyed and saved by 12.00 (Noon) Monday 12th December.
PSP will be closed for all changes from 2.00am Thursday 15th December for payment on Friday 23rd December. Once payroll has been completed on Thursday 15th December it will be reopened for users to start rekeying. This is anticipated to be approx 15.00.
Please note advances will not be issued in the event any payments are delayed due to units not keying information into the system within the required timescales.
Weekly paid employees – Payment date Friday 16th December
Weekly payroll will run to the usual deadlines for pay date Friday 16th December.
For hours worked between Monday 5th December to Sunday 11th December, units should input all absence, Variable Pay, substitution and Royal Mail Casual information by 13.30 pm the latest on Tuesday 13th December.
Any Assigned Shift and Allowances information needs to be keyed and saved by 12.00 (Noon) Thursday 8th December.
PSP will be closed for all changes from 14.00 prompt on Tuesday 13th December for payment on Friday 16th December. It is recommended that customers ensure all changes have been made and saved by 13.30. Once payroll has been completed it will be reopened for users to start rekeying. This is anticipated to be approx 18.00.

Any Assigned Shift and Allowances information needs to be keyed and saved by 12.00 (Noon) Wednesday 21st December.
PSP will be closed for all changes from 10.00 am prompt on Friday 23rd December for payment on Friday 30th December. It is recommended that customers ensure all changes have been made and saved by 09.30am. Once payroll has been completed on Friday 23rd December, it will be reopened for users to start rekeying. This is anticipated to be approx. 15.00.

IMPORTANT REMINDERS
Due to the restricted payroll windows over the Xmas/New Year period any manual payments or payroll corrections normally processed by the Payroll/Substitution teams may be delayed, this may include any payments submitted to the team e mail boxes by customers for manual input to PSP. Any delayed payments and corrections should be paid on pay date Friday 13th January at the latest.
Overtime should be keyed daily and units are reminded to key any overtime performed on the Bank Holiday by using the relevant Bank Holiday Options and not Absence or Pressure overtime. As a reminder:
LGC and LGE Drivers need to claim Opt C.
Bank Holiday Premium Payments
Bank Holiday premium payments (PSP Intermittent Allowance) for OPG UK Mails grades are non-pensionable and should be claimed against wage type 3100 (Bank Hol Premium (NPEN) and not 3102 (Bank Hol Premium (PEN).
Bank Holiday overtime claim process for OPGs performing acting ML duties
Acting Manager Bank Holiday overtime can be claimed via front end using the manager options below and keying in the normal way:
