A convicted sex offender is back behind bars...thanks to a blundering postie.

Sheppey pervert Michael Frost had been downloading indecent images - including ones of babies, Maidstone Crown Court heard.

But when an SD card was sent to the 57-year-old's home in Chapel Street, Minster, it was delivered to the wrong address.

The court heard that it was opened in error and immediately reported to police.

Prosecutor Trevor Wright revealed that officers then raided Frost's home and discovered more than 1,000 illegal images across all three categories on his laptop - including the images of babies.

Frost denied the offences of possessing them - and claimed he had taken his laptop to the pub and left it on the bar while he popped to the loo for a couple of minutes.

The jury, who heard it would have taken more than an hour to download them, rejected his claim and convicted him of all the three counts of possession of indecent images, involving class A, B and C categories.

Now a judge has jailed Frost - who appeared in the dock with the aid of walking sticks claiming he suffers from arthritis - for three years - after hearing he has a similar conviction dating back to 2003.

Recorder David Elvin QC told him: "An SD card containing child pornography was accidentally delivered to another address, rather than to yourself.

"In October 2017 police went to your home and you were arrested and your property, including a laptop was seized and later examined.

"It was discovered that you had searched the internet for sites, such as "pre-teen models" and "young girls exclusive" during 2015."

At his trial, Frost claimed to be "computer illiterate," suggesting somebody else must have downloaded the images, but the judge told him: "That was plainly a fabrication."

He added: "You regard yourself as a victim rather than a perpetrator. You tend to rationalise, normalise and minimise your behaviour which is wholly inappropriate.

"You maybe unhappy and you may be sorry for yourself and you may be in pain but that is no excuse.

"This is a form of self-delusion and the sooner you recognise this and accept you are an offender, the better for you."

If the unintended recipient opened it in error and immediately called the police. How did they know what was on it ?
If you had the same happen to you i.e you opened something in error , it contained an SD card , you weren't expecting anything like that , wouldn't you first check the address on the package to make sure it was addressed to you ?
