Royal Mail hit the back of the net in their support of a charity. Ayrshire Cancer Support received £650 from the Kilmarnock delivery office after a football-themed fundraiser. Gary Watret, MPU Manager said:
Ayrshire Cancer Support received £650 from the Kilmarnock delivery office after a football-themed fundraiser.
Gary Watret, MPU Manager said: “We wanted to choose a charity that was local and meant something to our staff, and Ayrshire Cancer Support received the nomination.
"It was really nice to give something back to the local community that we service, and by tying the theme to the Scotland v England game at Wembley that day - we figured a football fundraiser was appropriate.
"We had a kick the ball in the bin competition, a golden goal competition, Nick Morgan who is one of our postpeople singing his song on the morning of the game and invited staff to come in with their Scotland strips on to try and bring a bit of atmosphere, raising £650 on the day.
"We know this will support the people in our community who need it the most.”
