Part-time contracts and overtime

Post by peakeaboo »

Hi,
Hoping someone on here can help ... A colleague has recently been given a part-time (20 hours) fixed term contract and would like to know if she is asked to work 38 hours (planned) for a week should she be paid 20 hours at her regular rate and the remaining 18 hours as overtime rate? I ask because she has been told that if she has been requested to work a longer week then this is all to be paid at the standard (non-overtime) rate.
Any constructive answers greatly appreciated.

Part-time contracts and overtime

She will be paid exactly the same as a FT who does the same amount of hours as she does.

Let me explain.

Any overtime worked between 20 and 38 hours will be paid at SSPR which is an enhanced rate of overtime to include the Delivery Supplement.

After 38 hours another rate - First 10 hours OT (but with no delivery supplement)

After 48 hours the Overtime pay rate goes down.

Pay rates available at https://www.royalmailchat.co.uk/communi ... 04#p829304" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; but its complicated
