Hi everyone! Happy to have found this forum! Though not technically a royal mail employee, I work for Isle of Man Post Office so the business is the same, same policies, equipment and current squeezes and work in conjunction with royal mail and parcel force. We aren't yet being privatised although we no longer have any crown offices, all are now sub post offices.
Intro done I have a question some of you may be able to help with. Some of our more senior posties have drop bags. Basically a thin, lightweight version of the mail bag walk men use. When they get to each drop bag it just drops straight into the mail bag as if it was a mail bag. We don't seem to be able to get these, we have to use mail sacks for drop bags, which is okay most of the time but.... when its wet you often have to tip the mail onto a wet floor to then load into your mail bag rather than just dropping a mail bag in and if its a busy day, on some rounds this requires upto 6 drop bags, which alone takes up a lot of room in you mail bag even if you fold roll them tightly. So finally my question....
Do any of you know if you can still get these insert bags? If so any idea what these drop bags are officially called and any ideas on a supplier! Thanks everyone.

Yes - we still have walking deliveries that use them - I don't know if its the official name but we call them Pouch Inserts. Our manager or book room orders them on the Intranet.
