Dear Colleague
Parcelforce Joint Statement: Payment In Lieu Of Incentive Scheme (£100 Payment)
Branches and representatives will be aware that in June 2012 a new National incentive scheme was agreed, LTB 455/13 refers.
In line with the aforementioned incentive scheme, attached for your information is a copy of a Joint Statement that has been agreed with Parcelforce Worldwide and is self-explanatory in respect of the next lump sum payment that is to be made.
Branches and representative are requested to ensure that our members are made aware of this LTB and that the attached Joint Statement is given full publicity.
Any enquiries in relation to this LTB should be addressed to Terry Pullinger, Assistant Secretary, email: dwyatt@cwu.org or lwright@cwu.org quoting reference number:
Yours sincerely
Terry Pullinger
Assistant Secretary
JOINT STATEMENT
Payment in lieu of Incentive Scheme
Last year Royal Mail and the CWU agreed the introduction of a new incentive scheme covering all CWU grades across the business, including Parcelforce Worldwide. This resulted in a £100 payment in June 2012, which was paid in addition to any existing productivity or incentive schemes.
The agreement also gave a commitment to develop new scheme arrangements during the 2013/14 pay discussions:
“From 2013 onwards, in Royal Mail an underpinning £100 payment will be paid as an ongoing increase to the current Christmas bonus. For those CWU represented grades in Royal Mail and Parcelforce Worldwide who do not receive the Christmas bonus, the following will apply: they will either receive the ongoing £100 as a payment in December of each year, or alternatively both parties can agree separate arrangements for this ongoing payment.”
Both parties recognise that whilst we have been unable to finalise a suitable incentive scheme for this year, we will continue to work on this within our current discussions.
We also remain committed to the creation of a scheme that provides the opportunity and incentive to earn additional payments linked to performance, over and above the ongoing £100 payment.
Parcelforce Worldwide and the CWU want to take this opportunity to recognise the hard work and contribution made by everyone to the successful deployment of the expansion plans during 2013. Opening a new Processing Centre, eight replacement Depots and two new Depots in a single calendar year has been an exceptional achievement by any standard, and is a testament to the collaborative way of working that we have developed through the Table of Success.
Against that backdrop consistent with the £100 underpinning agreement and in recognition of the contribution you have made, we are pleased to confirm that the £100 lump sum (pro-rata for part time workers) for 2013 will be paid in December salaries.

Yes if you previously got the £100 Christmas Bonus - but only £100 if previously you did not get that particular bonus. At least that's how I read it.

Surely we don't normally get the christmas bonus so it will only be £100.
