POSTAL WORKERS DUE TO STRIKE

As we went to press, mail watchdog Postwatch was warning of a 24-hour strike over pay and conditions due to take place from 3am yesterday.
Royal Mail bosses and the Communication Workers Union are working to broker an eleventh hour deal over pay and working conditions.
Postwatch says the majority of post offices will remain open as usual, but warned customers that it might take longer for mail to arrive for a few days as backlogs in the system are worked through.
