How the hell do you know the mail people are waiting on (is a piece of crap)?Dexydog wrote: ↑05 Feb 2025, 14:23This is why it's been so badly thought through.
If they send all the the 2c you could just tie it to any packet due.
Instead, it'll be delayed for 3 or 4 days, or you'll be going to that address the day after with just a piece of crap if the machine decides it's due and releases it.
Really efficient, fk idiots.
I'm past caring,

Re: Delivery Method Change?
Please correct me if I’m wrong on this method but myself & out rep seem to disagree how this new delivery method works.
I say:
3 people over 4 walks
Postmen A & B deliver all mail on walks 1 & 2 (Mon)
Postman C delivers priority items on walks 3 & 4 (Mon)
Postmen A & B deliver all mail on walks 3 & 4 (Tues)
Postman C delivers priority items on walks 1 & 2 (Tues)
And so on through the week (except Sat when 2 OPG go across all 4 walks with priority items.
Rep says:
Postmen A & B work across walks 1 & 2 all week with 1 OPG walking the walks on alternate days whilst the other just covers priority items on the other walk.
I just can’t see how 2 OPG covering 2 walks this way saves RM money. Neither can I see how 1 OPG struggles round with double or triple mail every day while his partner just drives around delivering 40 tracked items & 40 1st class letters.

Re: Delivery Method Change?
So let me get this right. When this comes in there will be a full repicks and you will be in a partnership of 3 people?
Surely there would have to be a way of sorting so that the part timers are mixed in with the full timers. For example having 3 full timers together would get the advantage over 1 full timer and 2 part timers especially when you factor in the prepping of D2D's?

Re: Delivery Method Change?
That's the reason why they have needed to make a lot of PT staff FT
Repicks are going to be chaos, van shares with 2 people didn't work in our office, trying to get 3 people working together will be painful

Re: Delivery Method Change?
Hmmm. It’s almost like they haven’t thought it through. There’s a huge assumption that PT staff are happy to move to FT with 2 weeks notice and FT staff will move to a 9 day fortnight. Many PT staff in our place work 3 days due to childcare issues.

Re: Delivery Method Change?
Yes some people work PT through choice and have done so for years, how RM deal with this when it comes to seniority with repicks is anybody's guess

The person doing the tracked and 1C should realistically go and take a bag or two off the walkers if they have timeGRS wrote: ↑06 Feb 2025, 07:18Please correct me if I’m wrong on this method but myself & out rep seem to disagree how this new delivery method works.
