But, as much as I loath ST and the board, they have said what they are want (and are) going to do, whereas Dave says the union have an alternative but no detail as to what it is.

Do you know what the alternative plan is - as someone directly affected?

In tonight's live update DW stated that the Shareholder meeting has been moved to next week, reason given was shareholder availability.

Theres something shifty about this

Ive been saying it for a while now and had a feeling something else would happen that meant either it didnt take place or we never found out about it. Every single time its been mentioned over the past few months, Dave has said its happening 'next week' and then radio silence and nothing is ever said again about it. Like we are to forget he ever said it.

Even tonight the commenters in the video had to push push and push for an answer and it was a vague one from Chris with Dave not even acknowledging it with words - just a nod.

I trust the union but over this issue they are coming across like they arent telling the whole truth and just playing games

Once Royal Mail have actioned these Voluntary Redundancies, then what?

I assume that's at least the end of preventing them employing new starts on lower wages and terms and conditions.


Imagine you got a £20k+ VR payment but would have been happy to stay for a few more years at least - then after you've left the CWU struck a good deal and you could come back on virtually the same terms and conditions apart from a few smaller concessions. You apply for a Postie job again and get it.... £20k in bank and nothing much changed.

You can't come back for two years as part of the redundancy terms. I think it's a legal thing because you are getting up to £30k tax free.

You could come back as an agency worker though.
