Re: NHS letters through the SD Locker
NHS letters have never been prioritised at our place, not even during Covid were they separated from the tray mail.
’You can't just ask customers what they want and then try to give that to them. By the time you get it built, they'll want something new.’

How many DOs apart from your own have you ever set foot in? My gut feeling is none.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Exactly this. It's what's happening at our mail centre. It's just a complete mess at the momentR5001 wrote: ↑20 Feb 2024, 17:59They're getting to IPS later and missing mech waves, meaning more of them end up waiting in the office a day. They're outright getting a less reliable service, it's dumb as hell.
And even if you make it "work" with separate frames or adding them to specials... it's taking a lot more time filtering them in to bags and stuff (In the locker or on the street) than just delivering them like normal letters.

Re: NHS letters through the SD Locker
I believe that they're all 2C meters the ones that get extracted. Without the HPE mode on the machines they'd get flagged as DTS mail and would go through the DTS process. If the addresses didn't have any 1C mech then the NHS letters would get held the the maximum of 5 days (any DTS mail is automatically released on day 5). They'd then likely sit under a walk prep frame in a DO as part of the sequenced mail for however many days.

Doesn't change the fact that unless you've literally visted every last DO there is, you can't say how it gets done around the country any more than I canclashcityrocker wrote: ↑21 Feb 2024, 14:40Once again your gut feeling is way off the mark.SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑20 Feb 2024, 19:40

We have international items and passports in with specials in the locker. I think it actually makes them easier to miss or forget about than having them in your bundles, but that might just be my ageing brain. No NHS letters, but we clear every day, so there seems little point.

Re: NHS letters through the SD Locker
They gave up on nhs letters in our locker ,there was so many we just prepped them into frame and they stayed there for 4 days lol. I honestly think the managers are now clueless in what to prioritise ,they have cut the staff and hours so much if it aint got tracked written on it it just isn't going, and even then the lat's dont go on a monday and tuesday because they cant get anyone to do the job on the new contracts. Someone is pocketing a shed load of cash somewhere, im surprised companies haven't dropped them yet because most people i have spoken to say royal mail parcel delivery is the worst.

We do the passports into a separate DBF on the floor, the tied up bags go to the locker to get dispatched with the SDs
