So you want to buy loads of shares. Just remember though, when the future dividends are dished out to shareholders YOU will be standing alongside the very shareholders you have spent months slagging off. You really couldn't make this up. :arrrghhh :arrrghhh :arrrghhh

You would rather a Billionaire own the company as opposed to the Workers?

I've wasted enough money over the past few weeks. The last thing I'd want is to waste any more buying shares in this garbage company. Haven't you people got bills , mortgage / rent to pay ? You must have money to burn . Put your idea back in your box.

Think the original poster has a point , nothing so far has worked . This buying shares collectively is maybe just one tool to try and use , the union cannot give financial advice but they can point to the fact that such and such owns so much per cent of the company oh and by the way do you know that you can put away £25( roughly ) a week through your wage . Then a unnamed source can say the hedge funds are betting against rm share price and they , like in america , the small investors not just staff pile in .Look at the success in america it has brought some very large hedge funds to their knees melvin capital just one big name of a loss of 3 billion . Something needs to change hence their first post .

This just sounds funny, a company that is hell bent on screwing its employees out of every £ along with as many terms and conditions as they can, and the same people who are being screwed over want to invest their hard earned money in it :left: :left:

With regard to any takeover I believe it usually costs the buyer a 20-30% premium over the Share price.
I must say that this industrial action has been extremely fortuitous for Mr Kretinsky with regard to keeping the Share price down.
I'm not sure where you got this 20-30% figure from?

If you follow this page: https://www.lse.co.uk/ShareChat.asp?Sha ... -Dist-Serv there's some useful info instead of what you believe to be true. Of course some of the people on that site pretend to know far more than they do, but as I say useful info from some if you sift through the bs and name calling (a bit like here strangely enough).

The takeover share price triggered by VESA ( DK )30% ownership is based on the equality principle which underpins the mandatory offer Rule. This rule requires any person who acquires interests in shares carrying 30 per cent or more of the voting rights in a target to make a general offer to all shareholders at the highest price it has paid in the previous 12 months.

A year ago IDS was around £4.14 and getting lower every day after that.

Only bet what you can afford to lose. That's all I'm going to say.

get the Union to use their money to buy the shares needed. I am fine being charged extra on the membership to go towards it for however long is necessary.

An offer made by a prospective bidder is usually above the current Share price as an incentive for the Shareholders to accept.
I'm quite happy for you to prove that this isn't the case.

When the majority of us were given shares how much of the company do you think the workers owned?

No you owned 10% divided by roughly 120,,000.
That's kind of the point.

We're not a major shareholder, we're many very minor shareholders and we don't speak with one voice.

The union can't get involved because shareholding is a personal financial matter so who do you suggest organises this huge group of minority shareholders? That sounds like a full-time job and probably would require some kind of qualified certified expertise to be giving financial advice. Should we hire someone?
