Re: CWU Social Media PR
What is the deal about getting the Chair of the Board to the Negotiating table? The CWU having asking for his presence for a long while now... Is he a weak link or something or do they think he will veto Simon (CEO) or something?
It is like the CWU are clutching and have run out of ideas... I hope I am wrong... Most of us honestly thought if we give the CWU a huge mandate on strikes then RM will cave in to a point; of not wanting bad publicity or loss of business but we are at point where positions are becoming entrenched and we (CWU) and RM are heading for mutual destruction. And we all know that Simon and his team, and the board will still get the golden goodbyes and move on to another big job.
CWU need to start talking again whether Simon is going to listen or act or not...

Why not question why Simon is insisting the chairman isnt involved?
If you tolerate this, then your paid break will be next

Re: CWU Social Media PR
Simon is the CEO and he is the one pushing the negotiation; even if the Chair of the best and the s there, he will not do anything. Most of the Chairs are just non&execs anyway - they are the face but rubber stamps anything the CEO and those in operations tell them.
The Pathway to Change is almost dead in the water - Simon is not interested and the CWU better accept that fact or find compromises within it for the sort of changes that are now relevant to the new CEO and future of Royal Mail.
If your answer is the same as that of the CWU - he was a signatory and so he should be at the negotiation or be hamstrung by a previous agreement then we are being led by donkeys...
It is a pity though

Re: CWU Social Media PR
Chris the reason for the request to have Keith Williams involved was that Williams had contacted Dave Ward for a joint meeting only in April and then May of this year.
There have been other conversations in recent weeks and yet now it seems that Simon Thompson the CEO is saying that Williams is no longer involved which is strange especially at a time where there are clearly rumblings of a potential take over in the background.
The CWU will of course meet the CEO providing it is a meeting to resolve the dispute. After all apart from Moyà Greene most Chairs have not been involved in formal negotiations. However don’t you think it is strange that williams has now been sidelined when he had been in contact and requested a meeting with Dave and Terry along with Thompson only a couple of months ago ?

Re: CWU Social Media PR
If the plan is to sell off the company to this investment vehicle it is Williams who will have been talking to Vesa as well as the government and the regulator about the possible implications.
There may be no point in talking to Simon at all as he may not be part of their plans.

Did he get a golden goodbye then? If so, morally if not contractually/rehire terms shouldn't he pay it back?cobrakai wrote: ↑31 Aug 2022, 18:15Wasn’t he only sacked in January from RM.
