Good for you, but I hope you are 40+ years in service cos I can see a flood of transfer requests coming in for Shangri-la DO.number one wrote:Nope, genuine. Good pay deal whats not to like? I can finish at 1pm on my round unless I have overtime. On £34k a year for just walking around. No hassle from anybody and now they want to give me more money. Can finish before 12 on a Saturday. All that won’t change in this deal so no issues.tonytucker wrote:Wind up obviouslynumber one wrote:It’s a yes from me!! Fantastic deal.

Never do overtime on a sat so 12 o’clock finish. Do a york of packets on overtime for 5hrs pay some days. Might work my day of some weeks get 12hrs for that. Get paid 39hrs contracted plus 30hrs overtime most weeks. So get paid 69hrs but only actually work about 50 I can finish at 11:30 on a Mon/Tue if I didn’t want to do overtime. Clearing about £550 a week.citypostie wrote:Ha ha 34k and your a postie finishing before 12 on saturday! And 1 unless your doing overtime! What delivery do you do. Is it Greendale by any chance??
If you are finishing at 11.30 at steady walking pace on a Mon/Tues then your duty must obviously be too easy, and whilst you may think that you won't be touched because you do all this overtime, well that is where you could be very wrong. Read the agreement. RM and the CWU want to look at not just PDA actuals but also automated hours data capture i.e. when you enter and exit the building. Now they say that they don't want to track individuals - but this a privatised business that we are talking about so don't be surprised when your DOM under pressure to cut overtime hours will look at ever increasing ways to try and get their staff (and management) to do more work for less.
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

This is not looking too positive is it?
I know we're often being accused of being a bunch of Raving Left Wing Radicals on RMC ... but are we the only ones that think there's something dodgy about this agreement? I know a lot of Posties just want a hassle free job.... come in do the job....go home. Are these Posties going to bother reading through that thick booklet, or are they just going to listen to management Sound Bites on RMTV?
I find it a strange paradox that I'm now doubting what I hear from my Union, when initially I was very keen to vote for Industrial Action.
I was well chuffed with the size of the YES vote.
Now I feel it was all a rather wasted effort, and we've not got the result we were hoping for.

I’m content with what’s on offer, Ive voted Yes, unfortunately unlike others on here who claim to know how their office is voting en bloc, I don’t.

I don't believe listening to the feedback I'm getting there are more than 10% who are "content" with the agreement in my office.
I also believe that my office will vote Yes at around 70%.
They're a smart bunch and know that the union's had its best shot at it and came up short, they don't want to see how their next best shot might play out. We could feasibly end up at this rate with a 10% pay cut and a 45 hr working week.

Like I said I don’t pretend to know percentages of my office who are going to vote either way. You must be a very special person if you dofishtank wrote:I don't believe listening to the feedback I'm getting there are more than 10% who are "content" with the agreement in my office.

Of course, the fact that there are a lot fewer people in the average DO than an MC doesn't come into it.

Main issue for me is there is NOTHING in the agreement that can be submitted as a defence to the claim that there is going to be a serious, concerted effort to end bullying and harassment in delivery offices, this being used as a means to clear mail daily up and down the country.
Terry had me fired up; I believed this was going to be treated as a priority, I really did. Seems like it’s a point too contentious to tackle. In the real world, outside of the meeting rooms, RM seems fundamentally dependant on this method of management after all.

This is what I put down in the employee survey
The fact that managers don't want to be out doing deliveries means that they will often try all sorts of methods to bully and harass posties into taking it. I've seen it all from managers telling posties to leave parcels (and it still being sat on a york for a week) to leaving a few loops for the day only to find it still there on the frame when you are prepping the mail for the next day. And whilst a lot of the changes that are going on within RM are not necessarily the managers fault - the responsibility for clearing their section or office down surely relies on them.

Wakey ,wakey ,Why on earth did you bother to respond to the employee survey?
Lets throw it open ,has anyone ever in RMG spotted a question in the have your say survey that prompted actionable results?
Question 2 has anyone anywhere ever witnessed any improvement introduced as a direct result of their HYS response?
Wake up Stoopids its just brain fog bollocks "of course we listen ,now Foff and deliver those extra bags"
