If that is the case - then the main Post Office in Coventry must be losing money, something I find hard to believe given it is always busy. I fear it is more an excuse to sell off the silver and make a quick profit on selling this nice building. In the long term, the customer WILL suffer.

Doesn't anybody think that whshits are taking liberties.
Put it this way it sh***s weren't up for it the crown po's would not be moving, and our colleagues would not be going through this s**t.
I don't think they're the knights in shining armour they are perseved to be.
Back handers come to mind.
Would be interesting if someone dug a bit deeper at this.

I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Here a ground floor site accessable by taxi etc. is being replaced by a first floor location in a WHSmiths bang in the middle of a pedestrianised area. How the elderly and disabled are going to cope is probably of little concern to Royal Mail. Cutting wages and selling a valuable 'high street' property is all that matters.

PO Closures
Royal Mail cant't care about the elderly and disabled cos our office is going to the basement of WHSmiths - lots of stairs and a lift that their customers already say is too small! You can only just get a pushchair and occupant in it - not those motorised scooters -our consultation period has finished and POLs answer was to measure the lift and say it was fine! So those that fit into it will have to queue for the lift, queue to be served, queue for the lift again and if you don't fit in the lift TOUGH
PS -WHSmiths don't take cheques either!

Its not only Royal Mail that does not care for the customers who are elderly or infirm, its this government who appointed these two hatchet men Grozier & Leighton(Burke & Hare).
How down right treacherous of this Government to betray the very principles that gave birth to the Labour Party
They do not have the guts to openly privatize Royal Mail instead they appoint Burke & Hare to do their dirty work by savaging the rural offices & Crown Offices.
This will be providing a second class service which will lead to later Mail for the business sector ( Mail will arrive in the afternoon)no Sunday collections.
Just were is the hundreds of millions of pounds going from the sale of these crown offices? (Could be a it be decent pay rise).
This is a very proud public service its very existence was to serve the public to the best of our ability, its not to line the pockets of Corzier & Leighton.
Shame on the Labour Party the very founders must be turning in their graves.
This government and previous governments took hundreds of millions of pounds from Royal Mail which made a profit for over 20 years before the arrival of Burke & Hare. They failed to invest this money back to modernize Royal Mail that is the real reason we are in such a mess.
Pure Greed and corruption are destroying a great industry.
