Any new majority share holder will just say they didn't make that agreement/sign up to that, and tear it up.
They can technically tear up our contracts, make us redundant, and re-hire us on minimum wage if they want.
Though it is unlikely, as they could never replace the whole workforce with an entirely new one that would know what it was doing, not that quickly.

I have always loved this album and even though it was released almost 40 years ago, and how ironic its release is almost 40 years to the day of the Royal Mail privatisation date.

Now we have lost the privatisation,will the union now tell the world why we are voting for industrial action?(terms conditions,pensions,job security for 3 years) because people I speak to think it is just privatisation, and don't understand why we want to strike.
So come on do your job and don't leave it to us

As far as I am aware it would not be legal to strike against privatisation. The union has always known that and I see that it was made very clear at the recent meeting of CWU reps that the strike was not about privatisation. I'm sure it has suited the CWU leadership not to make this clear up to now but they have been caught out by the Government's privatisation timetable and there is a risk that some CWU members might wondered what is the point of striking now the "horse has bolted".
It seems to me that the decision on the pension changes has been made. RM always made it clear that they didn't need agreement to implement the changes and following the consulation exercise I believe the index linking will be confirmed shortly.
If the 3 year T&Cs guarantee was to encourage acceptance of privatisation one might wonder if that is still on the table now that privatisation is a done deal.
So the main issue could be about the pay deal and how far RM are prepared to go to improve their previous offer.
Do you really think Stan and Oliver sorry Billy and Dave have got the stomach for a real fight that would involve December strikes???!!!! They wouldn't want to upset the public would they! Most posties i know and work with have got the stomach for a fight but somehow i sense it has been a while since Big Billy and Dave have used their stomachs for a fight. Life is too easy for them and they are far removed from the daily struggles and tiredness that we face in our delivery offices. Even a lot of area reps are just Royal Mail minions in disguise. Most of them are more concerned about losing their fully paid release than fighting for the rank and file. A union with great members at foot soldier level but its leaders are a joke!!!!

I think they have,we have heard nothing from them, only a card now and again saying vote yes,in perspective the pay rise now is backdated to approx £380,plus £300 if you do not strike,by the time of the vote being counted back pay will be approx. £400 + £300 for not striking = £700 a nice xmas box.
going back to the £300 is that right?I thought £100 of that was ours anyway,I might be wrong,money talks and we will see what happens

Actually I think 200 of that is ours anyway, I'm sure they've worked a flanker claiming it to be new money.
To some of the comment about not voting or voting NO, if successful you can look forward to a spit roasting from the DOM and Linos, the better alternative is to stand and fight, nobody respect weaklings.

Well for a start the union will never agree to RM paying this to strikke breakers , while the rest of us are left out.
We would not call strikes off while these terms where on the table, unless they paid the strikers £400 and a compromised agreement was in place.
It would cause to much trouble in the work place and the best of it is Senior negotiators on both sides know it won't' happen, Moya knows it too.
