Daveyeff , your another one off here who believes in the great motto it everyone elses fault rather than mine.
Now I can tell you from me , whilst i went to over an hundred offices leading during the local strike action and leading up to the national yes vote , I did not go and tell the members to support the agreement once it was made. My divison took more action as a whole then anywhere else. I accept others like some offices in Scotland , Bristol , Plymouth etc took action as well but not as a whole divison.
Now what you had once the agreement was agreed by the PEC was a national 2 day briefing of all Branch`s down in Bournemouth and then meetings where all local reps were invited.
Now you say the members were intimdated to vote yes, well I think if we are all honest most of our members know that the circumstances which Royal Mail now work in is very much different to what it once was. Automation , unfair competition , a pension crisis and the fact that the dispute was over the fact that Royal Mail had a business plan which they wanted to introduce without agreement and with no benefits for the workforce. The 2010 agreement was not about the CWU arguing for change it was about the CWU insisiting that there must be an agreement in place which protected people from the changes which Royal Mail`s business plan was going to make.
