That's probably what most of the public want - just get s**t junk mail once a week say .

This is a dying industry - FACT!

It's a dying industry because incompetent idiots can't make any money from all that shite.
There was plenty of coal when the British Mining industry was destroyed.
There was plenty of orders for steel when the British Steel industry was destroyed.
There was plenty of orders for paper when the British Paper industry was destroyed.
There will still be plenty of letters when the Royal Mail is sold off, chopped up,franchised out, sold on again to various hedge funds and generally flushed down the toilet.
The industry will continue....much like a zombie...dead on the inside but still moving.

Sorry just because you type in it Upper Case letters does not make it a fact, if just empathises that you have posted an opinion without any information as why you hold that position.

Its not a dying industry, its an industry that's under massive political pressure, inherent managerial incompetency, public apathy and Union disconnection from its ordinary members - but then that's also an opinion and not a fact.

But one fact that you seem to have missed, Ernie Shoe is: Although the amount of Mail that we deal with from posting to delivery, is decreasing. The amount of Mail we're DELIVERING is still increasing (e.g. Parcels). And why is this? :hmmmm
Because nearly a decade ago, RM Management agreed to deliver "the final mile" (more like several miles), for LESS than cost, for our so-called competitors. If we were allowed to even break even on DSA ("the final mile"), then we'd be able to undercut them. But the Government won't allow us to increase what we charge for DSA. Because they're determined to protect them from the realities of delivering Mail. And of course, they want to make us look like a dying industry, so that the Public will one day allow them to sell RM.

Please check your facts, before making comments like that. :hmmmm
