What's the chances of somebody opening the package and then stealing just the game but not the Nintendo Switch? I'd still be surprised if the machine inside two seperate boxes had got so wet that it wouldn't still work.Barnacle wrote: ↑13 Oct 2024, 14:56So from watching that, I get the impression that the postie left the item behind the bin and then someone else stole the item and that is how the packaging is destroyed and sodden.ted_e_bear wrote: ↑13 Oct 2024, 14:21Here's the guys tiktok video

I still feel for the postie because they could not have imagined a biblical downpour plus the item going missing. I hope they keep their job with a warning only, and card anything in future.

I'd expect most thieves would grab the box and run. Not many would open it, decide what is worth taking and then leave the empty packaging!

Why would a thief risk stealing the lesser value item? It makes no sense. It also doesn’t change the fact that the postie messed up. They give us all a bad name by doing stuff like this. As I said, I have no problem with door-stepping per se, but use common sense. Not leave cardboard boxes out in the elements, even if rain is not forecast.

Customers lie. That’s the other variable in this.
’You can't just ask customers what they want and then try to give that to them. By the time you get it built, they'll want something new.’

I had "instructions" on PDA. Please leave in Outbuilding. Attempting delivery to a group of flats in a bigger complex, no shared shed, so this translated as please leave by front door. Additional info (I kid you not) Postie please read instructions properly and leave parcel outside building, stop messing around leaving notes....

Amazon gives parcel bags. When it rains, you put the parcels in the bags as you want to leave them outside.
