Go after the lump sum, I am guessing you have something else lined up. So good luck with that.

My story

I failed my degree. Did a couple of weeks as a croupier trainee. Tried a few interviews, only came close to one job, that was for a chemical company as I had to wait 2 weeks for them to decide basically they tested foods and when they were out of date.

I know I will not a get a job if I quit RM.

So you failed a degree, and now you will never get any other work outside of RM?

If you want out enough, you will find another job, there are plenty out there, and plenty that offer the same money as RM but with a lot less stress and physical/mental torture.

All the 20 year plus posties who have left (something that was unheard of only a few years ago), almost without exception all have said it's the best thing they have done. Listen to them!

You can do it!

I messaged the union. Guy said I had to be ‘in post’ on august 4th to qualify. Don’t intend to go back.

Good luck and all the best! Every year in the run up to Christmas I say I’m probably going to leave because I can’t handle the stress, but somehow I’m still there. More fool me. I’m lucky to be in a position though where I have savings to fall back on if I finally decide to go, and can afford to take some time to “de-stress” before looking for a new job. Plenty of people in our office have left in the last year as they were so fed up with the job.
