It will be a clear Yes.

It seems most people on here are angry and claim they will vote no, but I have yet to read a good reason as to why. A lot of people can't even understand that they will be getting £2,500 extra pay versus what they were getting in 2021/2022, assuming they are a full timer.

I understand there are changes that suck, but that's bound to be the case when you have been in dispute for a year. We are not going to get a 15% pay rise and zero change which it seems most people commenting on here wanted.

You're not living in reality if you think we could get that type of pay rise and reverse all revisions and have wonderful managers come in who great you with a smile and just ask you to do the job properly and not to worry if you can't complete....

We ain't living in that world. We have been harassed by management for years - that's not going to change. Just shove it back in their faces by starting on time, taking your breaks and working your hours. Then laugh in their faces when they question you.
You have spent the last few years on here moaning about how the job has rendered you a physical wreck and you spend your days in pain recovering from the job and here you are here telling us we should be happy to accept a deal that involves reduced sick terms , reduced ill health retirement, will involve us working for longer and later in the harsh winter months, agrees to help implement frameless offices to make prep time shorter and so delivery time longer and we can be performance managed via the PDA if they dont think we are going quick enough?!?

They want people like YOU out of the business.

This agreement will help them.

You don't understand why people are angry?

Why did we bother striking at Xmas at the Unions behest if they knew that the talks weren't going anywhere?
Why did the union then put out another mandate for strike action after Xmas and then didn't use it? That makes absolutely no sense whatsoever and the union have failed us. It's them who have failed to read the room from day 1 after initially putting forward a ballot for a no change pay deal!!

The issue was never about pay though and in fact Royal Mail probably offered us a better deal last year with 9% over 18 months last year. Now they are offering 10% (8%) over 3 years so the pay offer is about the same if not worse. Anyway you look at it, it's a pay cut in view of it being below inflation.

You're also suggesting that it's acceptable to be harassed by management?
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

So the members voicing a no vote, are now being told you’re putting the business at risk?

What a daft conversation, A NO vote is just that, why would the union suddenly not exist.
The RCN rejected a bad deal endorsed by the union, so shall we!
The nurses have a hospital to go back to, we will not have a business & the nurses have the public on their side, we don't, nobody notices if they don't get a bill for a few days.
People are not interested in us so vote yes or vote no to lose your livelihood
Again I think most would rather see a badly run business go to the wall than be exploited for profit, find another job Royal Mail is in flames
I think most people go to work to pay the mortgage, utility bills and take the kids out rather than worry if a company is run correctly, As long as they are getting extra money ( up to 2.5 grand in this case) most normal people will be happy and will change how they live for it.
I doubt it, it’s more than money it’s years of goodwill (on most parts) turned round and spat back in your Face ID you’re happy flying under a flag of surrender good luck I for 1 have more about me

How about, go and find another job without burning down Royal Mail, so those of us who want to continue can do so? Such a selfish attitude.
You’re missing the point you wont have a job either way. And pointing the finger at “colleagues” when we know who’s lit the match is rich

I have a advantage over most people in that i left school 44yrs ago and joined the workplace as a 17yr old kid. Having worked for a lot of companies over the years i have settled into RM quite happily for 16yrs now and with retirement looming can perhaps give some insight into industry in general in my experience. I have been a shop steward and a union member for most of it but not with the cwu before.
Having worked in various places with different unions i have watched the erosion of most t&cs over the years in most industries, in the 70s & 80s they had to much power and run roughshod over industry but it was great for us workers. It has now gone the other way and its become the view of big business to smash them up and now its even starting to filter through to public services as well.
We are slowly being turned into some sort of slave economy (They call it gig) where you have a contract different from your fellow worker, nobody hangs around for any length of time and the good name built up disappears down the swanny and nobody cares, i know its difficult but its true in the future your postie will be some person who doesnt give a toss and next week will be employed elsewhere.
But at the moment we are still in the majority so for us we can effect some sort change, look at the agreement hard, be aware what parts of it will be a problem for you going forward and try to get clarity on exactly what they want and expect of you. If you find anything and i mean anything you have a problem with, raise it with the union and if its not clarified to your content then if you vote yes its not the unions fault.
Forget the money side of it they are always going to plead poverty, concentrate on the little details which can be easily changed to everybodys satisfaction, the things they love to beat us with are always the little things and if they can be nailed down worklife for us will be so much better.
Remember this agreement is for all of us now and in the future so if they cant get it right dont vote for it.
