Is the CWU in talks this week ? Yes or No?

Surely they are back in talks.... if Royal Mail had refused talks then surely this would have moved forward to announcing strikes by now.

Royal Mail said that’s it for talks, but the union said that they expect a deal this week. How can they expect a deal if they are not talking. The union have strung their member along and will continue to do so because they realised that there is no deal to be had that the staff will like.

I leave next Saturday and wish everyone the best, but it doesn’t look good and any deal that you will get will only last a year at best before RM coming asking for more.

I said it at the start that the job was finished and nothing was going to save it.

I might be wrong but I don't think they ever said that they'd strike a deal by this week. All they said was that the talks were progressing (take that as you will) to the point where they thought striking was not the best strategy this time round and were willing to engage with talks again. But, they have left the door open rather than outright saying the talks have resumed like they have normally do. So, guessing neither parties have talked since then as posted on another thread that Ricky Macaulay was on Workplace asking members for questions about the two proposals presented to the CWU. Good luck on your future though bro, definitely made the right call!

The way I see it is this they are not in talks but have communications which they have had all along and will be talking about this most of the day but not around a table. If they can move forward they can agree a time and place to do so.

Good effort an all, cheers for trying but the way this country is now you're powerless and they have known for some time and just stringing us along and just trying to save themselves. Why pay into something you're not getting a return for is the simple question member's will be asking.

Well my opinion would remind people, without a union it would be worse.

Let's think, full timers back upto a 40 hour week, meal reliefs unpaid, a £250 one off payment pay rise plus 1% backdated from February. The list is endless.

If Royal Mail could scrimp on anything they would.

We need a union more than ever.

Our rep said they're being "well cagey but implied there's some movement"... Whether that movement is directly into the nearest toilet we don't know!

Reps no nothing more than you and I. They are in total limbo, with an office of aggrieved Posties to placate.

I honestly think it is the worst situation to be in an office. Good one bad one, what can they do or say at the moment.
