I think Proportional Representation (PR) is the obvious way to go. :thumbup

Unfortunately the Parties that are in power would need to introduce it ... and since it would likely kick them out of power ...... they're not going to do it! Catch 22 ! :cuppa
Biggest problem to a Labour government is the rise of the SNP in Scotland 45 MP's in parliament yet still cannot gain independence and never will. Wasted votes on a party who cannot even agree if a man is a woman or vice versa and that's just just the candidates for first minster.

Not to me, it isn't the obvious way to go. Introduce PR and you'll end up with actual fascists and communists in parliament, like you have around Europe. Extrapolating previous election results into PR, and the biggest winners out of it would have been UKIP in 2015.

Too true, and then there's the "new government every six months" aspect which always comes with PR systems.

I'm not a Polling Expert, but surely that's Democtacy in action? Just because we're a Tory or Labour supporter surely that's no reason to presss on with a flawed sysstem?

To my understanding:
First past the post simply put .... 10 votes .....4 Vote Tory .... 3 Vote Labour .. 2 Vote Liberal .... I Votes Green = Tory win with 40% of Vote.

But that means there's actually 60% of the people that vote, not taking into consideration those that don't (?) that DON'T want them in Power!

Perhaps we should also think about Compulsory Voting to get a truer picture? :cuppa

You don't believe in democracy then!
How many Fascist or Communist Governments have been voted into office recently in Europe?

None that I can recall, but then under a PR system those extreme parties get a far bigger "say" than their polling numbers would imply. I'd rather the 2 1/2 political parties we currently have carried on as they are than have the BCP or BNP having any say in government.

All that happens in a FPTP system is that the fascists and communists embed themselves in the mainstream parties and their affiliates/lobbyists.

You still end up with fascists and communists having a say in parliament.

At least under PR they are in plain sight.

No majority Fascist (or Communist) Governments, but far right parties hold significant influence in Hungary, Poland, Italy and Sweden.

Define far right because it is a largely meaningless phrase nowadays, it's a slur used to shut down debate, especially on immigration.

I would like you to highlight specific Policies from each of these Parties that back up your assertions that they are far right.
The Law and Justice Party (PIS) are actually in power in Poland and I haven't noticed that this Polish "Far Right" Government are receiving much criticism from the International community.
They are so "Far Right" they have taken in 3 million Ukrainians.

Mainstream parties can have far right policies and far right parties can have what would be taken in isolation as socialist policies.

Policies can also be spun to be intended for one purpose but primarily used for another.

The bottom line is the only conspiracy is one of universal greed and that doesn't require shady meetings between billionaires, it's a pretty fundamental principle in itself. Give very little, take a lot. I'm not sure that I could spin that out to a fifteen minute YouTube video though.
