I think parcels are being stolen. I ordered iTouchless 15 Litre Sensor Dustbin from Amazon and was apparently delivered to me on 29-02-2024 at 5.58am

5:58am??? - ridiculous!! someone has seen this item and though Hmmm I'd like this and decided they would have it. This to me is not only theft but fraud too. Several on my friends has had similar experiences too.

Your item was delivered on 29-02-2024, 5:58am

Amazon are going to start an investigation but this is not a great experience for me and it's not the first time I've had issues like this.
I'm going to report this to the police too because Royal Mail management know this is happening but appear to to nothing continuously.
Nobody’s delivering parcels at 6am!
With it being scanned RM know who scanned it (you have to log in)and where - PDAs have GPS
You won’t lose any money

You've obviously checked the tracking number on Royal Mail Tracking System - it says it's been delivered to the Delivery Office Customer Service Point at Crawley. Have you checked with them before you try to get the police to launch an investigation?

It'd be a bit awkward for a 'dodgy' postie to sneak a bin out of the office unobtrusively.

I would of thought a bin wouldn't be top of a nick list out of all the thousands of other things.

This is what we call the callers' office, do you have a Po Box, or have you arranged for the item to be delivered on another day. I would suggest contacting the managers at the local office if you suspect theft.

From your post it seems you've probably raised a complaint through Amazon but it will take time for them
and Royal Mail to communicate and investigate.

i know you shouldn't have to visit the Crawley Delivery Office Customer Service Point to get your parcel
but it may provide a quicker resolution to your problem if you are able to go to the office with all the tracking
information you've got and ask if they've got the parcel to hand. They may be able to help, they may not.
Otherwise you are just going to have to wait for the official Amazon/RM resolution.

Sometimes if we get a parcel with the address label partially damaged or unclear (as to who the final addressee is) we
scan it to the Customer Service Point in the hope that the recipient is checking their emails/texts for information and realises
the parcel is available to collect with some sort of proof (tracking emails/texts, Amazon order invoice, proof of address and ID).
