We have some of the most severe regulations designed to curtail union action and provide employers with an abundance of opportunities to deny individual members the opportunity to take part in action.

The CWU has to deal with an employer who has resources such as videos, letters to homes, magazines, wtl&l sessions and an abundance of managers directing their energy to pushing Royal Mails message while undermining the union.
The CWU represents individuals working across several hundred different locations, in units ranging from 2 people, to units of thousands and spread from the valleys in Wales to the highlands in Scotland, the glens of Antrim to the cities and coastal areas of England.
Despite all of this our union has managed to organise us and motivate us to deliver one of the largest mandates for IA ever seen. Our union and its leaders have consistently delivered better terms and conditions for us than workers in similar industries receive.
Yes, it is right to question and criticise the performance of those who represent us in negotiations but please bear in mind all of the above.
