Long service awards scheme advice .

Post by Philburnley »

Just received my 30 year presentation box yesterday. It included a black badge and a letter giving me a password and username for a site called appreciategift.com. When you type it in there is no real specific site but gives you a link which warns me that the site maybe trying to steal my details etc!!! Anyone got any ideas??

I wish they would just do away with long service awards. It just gets people's back up when they realise just how much Royal Mail value your loyalty.

Got mine cpl year back , tiny cracker style badge , just an insult to all the service youve gave. If your giving work place coaches ,£38 a week inc holidays for doing nothing at all for months on end , why not appreciate the long service with even a paltry £50 ???? Why does the union not push this .

I got my 30 year award which is a postcard sized certificate thanking me for my service, badge, £100 voucher and a dinner do.

Kinda dissapointed by the size of my 30 year certificate, unlike my previous 2 which is A4 size glossy framed wih coat of arm in bronze 10 years and silver 20 years.

Not sure what my 40th will bring.

I had £80 for 20 years and £100 for 30 years, which when you factor in inflation probably worked out as effectively less. :hmmmm

I was also invited to a meal on both occasions, which I politely declined as the journey there and back wasn't really worth the hassle. :cuppa

I have no intention of seeing 40 years service. :wave

I`m not sure if Royal mail have stopped giving out long service vouchers/gifts. I had 30 years service in at the end of January 2021. I received my badge, mounted on cardboard, in a cardboard box in mid March but nothing else. A friend of mine who works at a different office also only got a badge.
Anyway, its a nice badge and its better than nothing.

When you think about it ... it's all pretty pathetic isn't it?

20 or 30 years working for the same firm and they insult you with paltry gifts. :no no

I seem to remember a statement made by RM a few years ago saying they realised the £100 gift token didn't really reflect all the service given and some people found it insulting .... SO THEY STOPPED IT! :d'oh!

Some were invited to a slap up meal accompanied by members of the management team. That was a definate No No for me.:no no Could you imagine being sat at the table with a few beers in you ... surrounded by all your managers? Well that's not going to end well is it? :cuppa
