I would suggest that you contact the 'Seller' for a re-confirmation of the reference and/or shipping information.

I sent a package before xmas and got exactly that message when I tried to track its progress.
Either the PO is using dodgy labels or there is a software problem elsewhere.

Well this is the second time he has sent the item out, the one he sent over Christmas still gives the same message now.

If they genuinely have proof of 'Signed For' postage then they are entitled to up to £50 compensatory payments from Royal Mail for each of their losses.
