I don't think anyone has encouraged others to refuse to accept them.
Certainly the union's position was it should be a matter of personal choice.
There was no CWU backed boycott campaign, just 360 odd individual Quixotic gestures.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

I have only seen one definite and a couple of possible opt outs on the forum so I can't see anyone being dishonest about it.

The union isn't asking you to back them, the union is asking you to back you.
The secure terms and conditions are for you,the pay rise is for you,the pension is yours etc,etc..

I think you are living in cloud cuckoo land.
Nobody wanted privatisation. But most people are realistic enough to see it was going to happen, and see the free shares as the price the ConDems had to pay to force it through.
For the want of getting flamed, the shares are a no brainer, wish I had had more spare wonga atm and I would have bought my full £10k allocation, Who in their right mind would turn down a probable instant £4k?? A posty taking is full EPO is just denying the city boys a bit of profit and as no bearing on the privatisation, might as well get a few scraps out of the inevitable dissaster.
Having said that, I would not have and still wouldn't have voted to be privatised, and think the union where stupid not to bring a strike vote in a time frame that could have had some effect upon the decision.

This post doesn't make sense.
On the one hand you talk about denying the city boys anything yet on the other you talk about an instant 4k.
Who do you think is going to buy them? You won't have denied the city boys anything.
And since the title of the thread is about the 368 who refused their free allocation, there isn't an instant anything to be had from them.

Denied them buying the shares at £3.30, they are more than welcome to buy them off me at £4.00++ that's 70p per share profit denied.
Three years + tax deduction
Five years and you don't pay any tax do you think you still be working in royal mail by then.
doubt it I retire in 3 years. I mean when do we actually get the shares?
The shares go into a Share incentive Plan (SIP) You cannot touch them till 3 years unless you retire or are made redundant, transferred, IHR , If get sacked or leave you lose them just don't get sacked or leave you have more chance of getting them than me then.
