Agree with most of what you say FT although B&H is actually far more widespread than just deliveries although I accept that it is this function that suffers the most. I think a lot of the problems stem from the fact that those above DSM level simply do not have sufficient technical knowledge about deliveries or the shortcomings of the planning tools that are available. It is a fact of life that in an operation where there are unforeseen fluctuations in workload you will not always be able to correctly align staff hours and so you need to slightly over resource sometimes to fulfil your commitment to the customer and all the planning in the world will not prevent this. RM keep saying that 'We Work Safely' but then put undue pressure on employees to ensure that the reverse is true.fishtank wrote:Brain Fury wrote:B&H is a difficult one because any deal will by definition be about what will be done in future. How does RM reassure you that it will be dealt with properly?
To deal with B&H you have to deal with the root cause.
That is the unacceptable upside down savings driven culture in delivery.
Each day starts with the ethos of how many hours can we save today rather than the far more sensible approach of how can we run this operation efficiently and therefore naturally produce savings.
The resourcing tools used in delivery are deeply flawed, the IWT is not fit for purpose, the Traffic Forecast tool is much like gazing into a murky crystal ball and Pegasus/Georoute is about as useful as giving two toddlers some street names and some glue.
It is the awful state of delivery, delivery office managers simply firefighting and pressure from above to also produce savings while firefighting that is driving this B&H culture.
Change that completely and you will go a long way to reducing management driven bullying and harassment.

I have been subject to bullying for over 2 years now but when ever I complain to management I am not believed or deemed to be the troublemaker!fishtank wrote:Brain Fury wrote:B&H is a difficult one because any deal will by definition be about what will be done in future. I am recieving counselling for this.
I have put in a transfer request to move to the next nearest delivery office to get away from the pressure.I worked at this office as a favour and my family noticed the difference in me immediately.
B&H is swept under the carpet by all as it saves paperwork.
P.S I am deputy union rep for my office!!

Stand up for yourselves and dont tolerate b&h,my lino has shouted at me to which he gets the same back,if he wants to step outside and take it further i would and it would be a pleasure.I have seen people in tears in my office for bullying from these tossers, be counted ,you can either be bullied or treat them the same way that they treat you.
