I didn't say you didn't give me an honest and fair answer but you also judged me by your own standards with the start of that post. You didn't mention you contract because you know you could of avoided the O/T if you wanted to and have no base to support your complaint.I think I will fit in just fine given that I won't let myself be taken advantage of and not do anything to stop it. If you let people walk all over you, then that's your problem but don't assume others will bend over for anyone. Yes, good luck to me now why don't you :dcfo and get keep your unethical replies to yourself.

I could see nothing wrong with his reply. He suggested you look for TNT forums, thats all. He did not use any form of abuse, he did not call you any names, he did nothing other than make a suggestion and if you take offence at that I hope you are more diplomatic when dealing with customers and colleagues in the real world.

What is wrong with asking for directions online from people who have been working in this industry for longer than I have? Heck I haven't even started my first day.. I'm sure people sales assistants at Tesco for example will check out their options when it comes to finding a better working environment or better benefits with other food retail companies such as Aldi/Lidl/Asda/Sainsburies/Pound land etc if they're not happy with their package. They don't have to be employed by them to find out.

You are allowed to be offended if you want, but the spirit, and the rules of RMC, is everyone is welcome, and telling someone to "shut up" because you did not like what they posted, or took offence where none was intended, hardly fits in with that.

Read what he posted with a dispassionate eye - nothing was meant by it. In fact if you look at previous threads (and indeed the replies in this thread) RMC members do not hide behind words, or post hidden messages. They are, as is the nature of Posties, up front and in your face about most things.

Now can we move on and discuss things of more import than someone being offended by the tone of a response.

I already have registered with most and scanned their forums. even asked a few questions and no replies from TNT employees or the like. None were close to the nature of the replies I received here. RM and TNT are head to head, next best place to hit. So what's your point?

Something was meant by it. Maybe he caught me at a bad time, ain't going to confirm that. Still, it is what it is. If you and the others are blind sided by it then fine. Yes it is, I'm not sure of what became of the trial at liverpool but I'm hoping (Have been assured) given that my performance is up to scratch I will be hired full time perm.

Well, it's alright I guess, can look after me just fine. =)

Pay would be £7.10 an hour. Basic under performing would be NMW only. Pay increases would be up to £8.10-50 and held there unless you get promoted of course. Get 28 days paid holiday each holiday year, statutory sick pay for more than 3 days, good pension scheme, Right allowance programme for travel if needed and get various bonuses also. Until I start I can't comment on the training quality, workload, working environment or other positions pay rates etc. I'll post an update in the near future if it is any use to you or others I guess.

I dnt say anything about ot. I said eu rules that TNT like to bend on tachos. If youre out in a lorry do you just leave 40 odd tons by the side of the road and go home? That's letting people walk all over me? I didn't judge you at all and if you think my first comment is unethical (?) you need to wise up in the real world. Before you slag me off learn how a hgv contract works. I say again TNT were the worst to work for and if that offends you because you are going to work for them, I feel sorry if someone says your football team is crap.

Are you bonkers or something? I don't own TNT post or express, or parts of it so why on earth would I be ticked if someone didn't like working for them. It doesn't affect me directly to take offence. Hit the scroller and pick up why I was really offended.This whole thread is for me to try and extract such opinions and positive ones too. I'm sorry, am I in world four,five or six and which one do you suggest I get a flight to be on the same page as your sorry ass eh? Should of gone back to base or where ever you report to since legally your contract covers your hours only and the rest you will take on as a volunteer if you are asked to do O/t. This applies to ALL postal workers. So yes, you coward under pressure or believed what they told you, that's your business. That doesn't mean it's their fault. I am a law student in my 4th year. So before you tell me to hit the road with the contract thing think again.

Signed a contract as a flexible employee which lasts for 2 months with a good chance of extending it, taking me on a perm basis. Training will start 2 weeks before my starting date in april, PAID!

I really don't know what to expect other than that I will have deadlines to meet and will cycle all around the place which seems fun to me. What have you heard? The uniform not bad either, 70% black. Any other forums I can visit to find more TNT related topics from their own employees perhaps, google isn't helping me. My employment agency painted them in a good light but of course she might have a set of ulterior motives I'm not aware of just to get me to accept.

TNT using cycles? Never heard of that before!
Do they need any ex-RM mechanics??

I believe they were on cycles in Bristol around a year ago doing a trial.
