We are a sub office so no manager for us either, he was on the phone at one point but not one word to any of us! He has got no balls!

TBH we knew since Friday so it wasn't a surprise , oh yeah union rep was given week off this week surprise surprise!!
we were told to late alot of people relying on the extra cash total discrace
The news was taken quite well this morning which I was surprised about. I expect it to have sunk in by tomorrow morning and then the rants will start. About 90% of my office qualify for CS, we've only had about 3 new starters in the past few years.
So keep on moving, moving, moving your feet
Keep on shuf-shuf-shuffling to this ghost dance beat
Just keep on walking down never ending streets
when we were asked how we felt about the news (for feedback purposes), one of our guys stood up and said he felt relief, an enormous sense of relief. he was glad our caring employer had taken away a problem that had been weighing heavily on his mind of late. The question of how to spend his cs money ? Sex,drugs and rock and roll or the family holiday. The need for a decision was affecting his well being and thanks to this amazing piece of accounting he would be able to put his life back on track. Another one tho stood up and said we are lucky to have a job..... and yep he was spot on...he was lucky to have one lol
This is not the first time this as happened at our place a few years ago we had a notice put up that our bonus from the savings was xxx amount of ££s then the day we were due it the notice was hastenly taken down and another put up saying we had nothing to come as our function had actually over spent. They said that they had forgotten to calculate the expense of hiring of agency staff and casuals so we are getting used to the crap that comes our way.
Absolutely pissed ourselves laughing , funny as f**k watching the red faced Dom announcing.
End of the line for future benefits for concessions in RM ? It should be , never work for a "PROMISE'

The reaction? Well, what a freaking surprise, stitched up again.
Still, despite being a union man/labour voter, all my 30+ year working life, I feel we were equally stitched up by the CMU last year. Inflation busting pay increase my ar%e. I'm now about £50 pw worse off.
My doubled D2D, supposed to be done on work time, no chance. Management & CWU don't seem to have come to any agreement about this.
totally agree with you i though i was bad losing £60 to£80 a month i have never trusted management but the union got us a bad deal and the funny thing now is they have the cheek to ask for our support they can take a flying f*** £ 3.11 in my pocket
No meeting at all just a glum faced manager dropping a photocopied letter onto each frame as we prepped. No one seemed surprised as i dont think we really believed we would get anything. It will prob teach the newer members of staff not to trust anything RM says, which is only what we tell them anyway.
For me i did not even stop to read the letter but just scanned it looking for the finger of blame (which will always come back to us) and sure enough about half way down it started going on about how much the mail was down etc. At that point i binned it as i could see no point in wasting anymore time with it.
Rows of houses all bearing down on me........I can feel their blue hands touching me.......All these things in all positions.........All these things will one day take control..........
Most of our office knew in advance due to this forum,Dingo, etc,so thanks to both those sources of info,it's always good to be a little ahead of the game! Manager gave us the news and then said he had a detailed list of questions and answers on colleague shares, which he was pinning up on the board for us to look at! Couldn't see the point of reading it as he'd already told us the answer to the only question that mattered....................How much are we getting?..................Fuckall!
Staff at NWMC were taken into a quiet back area and had managers read word for word from the brief.
They then had the cheek to ask whether anyone had any questions, the first question was pretty blunt...
Staff: "Why does it feel like an attack on the staff simply because we worked harder for less whilst the company increased the pension deficit and also broke their promises?"
Manager: "uuuh I only know what is says on the brief...."
Staff: "Why are you wasting our time then?"
After the briefs were given most staff slowed right down and we ended up finishing quite late, I think we may have even failed to clear on some areas. Not bad going for a Tuesday when we have next to no work! :D
I am of on leave at the moment and from talking to the local postman I don't think 'Bangor Delivery Office' (Northern Ireland) knows what is going on. The mangers treat us like mushrooms. Kept in the dark and feed on sh**.
