CWU London critical of CWU Campaign!

I think the letter makes some fair comments while offering some positives at the same time, showing willingness to debate and offer a different angle on the campaign.

It seemed to take forever to get a letter out to postal workers from the CWU about the campaign and even then it was hardly a rallying call to war.

This government has declared war on our public services (with the view of selling off OUR Royal Mail), we need the leadership that will inspire us for battle. Unless the CWU has stopped being a fighting union?

Like many within Royal Mail, I want to do more in this campaign but seriously feel underwhelmed by the direction so far (just my observation and not meant to thump the CWU in the face, but rather kick it up the arse into action!)

I couldn't agree more! What we need, is a proper National campaign, along similar lines to the last one.

Well how about following the students campaign.............they didn't let the grass grow..........in fact I'll just bet they don't even know who the 71 MPs are with the lowest majority.................

Perhaps not the MPs with the lowest majority but they are targeting the weakest part of the coalition namely the Liberals who said they would not increase tuition fees. So the strategy is the same - targeting the most vulnerable, but the method is different.

Also the NUJ are holding marches as are the CWU (and I have been on a few over the last few years) the problem is that students are famous for having more spare time than posties so there protest was bound to be bigger. The reason why the march became news was not because of the issues the NUJ were raising but because of the violence, do we really need some of that on our marches because that would please the Lefty bashers (Daily Mail et al) no end.

Yes.............. I can see the similarity, newspapers full of the "student riot", TV full of the riotous behaviour, ..................wonder which page the privatisation features on..................you know the old adage TBT - there's no such thing as bad publicity..................but when there's no publicity???????????
Maybe Billy and Dave should chain themselves to the railings of Westminster or throw themselves under a pie van.........anything contentious to raise a byline Oh and the CWU twitter doesn't count.
