Only wish all postmen got them signed for, my wife has her own online bussiness and sends everything recorded to stop things like chargebacks and customers saying they have not got the items when they have.

187 items posted between 27/8/10 until 17/9/10 22 items not signed for all different parts of the uk.

3 items saying return to sender but as yet no returns all items have return address on

some items taking over 10 days to get to there destation great service i think not.

royal mail needs to get a grip otherwise they will keep losing bussines and end up doing all the s**t while ups, fedex, ukmail, tnt and dhl take all there work all the cream.

exmaple of prices royal mail 2kgs up to 3kgs 1st class recorded £8.96 can take up to 10 days

uk mail 2kgs up to 25kgs cost £5.99 plus vat and fuel surcharge about £6.70 next day delivery mon -friday

ups £9.49 next day delivery the others are about the same.

royal mail special delivery over 2kgs will cost over £20.

ups anywhere in euorpe (eu) up to 10 kilos £32.99 90% will be delivered the next day. royal mail 2kgs up to 3kgs cost about £35 international signed for can take up to 15 days.

this is how real the comptition is.

before any postman has a go at me, i was a postman for 12 years left for 7 years then came back this year lasted 11 weeks then told them where to stick it so i know what its like for you lot.
but you cunningly chose a weight over 2kg.
How about UNDER 2kg ?
Special Delivery, guaranteed next day,
£5.05 up to 100g,
£5.50 up to 500g,
£6.70 up to 1kg,
£8.65 up to 2kg.

No, you need the number and the PO wont have a record of it.

Are Specials not logged in a book at the PO any more, the way we would have done sending an SD from the delivery office? If they are and the customer knew the day it was sent, time and addressee, then maybe in a small PO there may be a chance that they would have a note of it in the specials book? It's a long shot though.

PS. Becks, I've been retired over a year, things could have and probably have changed a lot since then :)
